Minnesota songstress Martha Scanlan first came to prominence with the fabled Reeltime Travellers old-time string band. After catching the attention of Grammy-winning producer T-Bone Burnett the group recorded a cut for the soundtrack to the film, 'Cold Mountain', and were featured on the Great High Mountain Tour along with Alison Krauss, Ralph Stanley, and others from the, 'Oh Brother Where Art Thou', soundtrack. Martha's first solo CD was produced by and featured Dirk Powell along with Levon Helm. The West Was Burning was released in 2007 to great critical acclaim.
